Microsoft has announced Office 2021, a new version of the software. Microsoft Office is the most used software for office work. Microsoft recently announced a 2021 version. These versions are known simply as 'Office', followed by the year of their release. Microsoft releases standalone versions of its powerful Office apps every few years, despite this success. It includes Outlook, OneDrive, and, for business-oriented subscriptions, Microsoft Teams. Although it has been rebranded as Microsoft 365, the core service is still available. Office 365 was voted the most popular enterprise cloud service less than five years after its launch. This was a major advantage over previous Office apps that were only updated every few years. The first time that Word, PowerPoint, and Excel were available as part of a subscription was also the first time. Microsoft took its productivity software to a new level with the 2011 release of Office 365. One payment for the ongoing use of the software without annual payments (aka subscriptions).
This is what Microsoft refers to as a 'perpetual license' version.
Office 2021 will be the next version for small businesses and consumers of Microsoft Office.
